We know a good cake when we see one! But yesterday new recruit Talitha thought she’d take it to another level. Yes, that is a bona fide Apfelstrudel with ice cream and added cupcake goodness you see before your eyes. Others were quite content with their tiffin, carrot cake and the like during our mid-ride cafe stop at Farrington Farm but this is a notch up the culinary ladder.
The plan was to meet-up with Westbury Wheelers for a chat and some nosh but sadly a beefy headwind slowed us down a little and we arrived 10 mins or so late. All this meant that the Westbury guys were almost on their way out of the door but we’ll certainly try to do this again. For now at least we’ll keep our coffee stops to the the end of the ride.
Finally, huge respect to the ladies behind the counter at Farrington Farm Shop as they had to deal with not one, not two but three cycling clubs arriving within half an hour of each other. Great to see so many clubs out cycling.
