The plan is to meet 30th August at 11-45pm at the entrance to the Devonshire Tunnel on the Two Tunnels Route and then ride through the night to arrive in Bournemouth/Boscombe for sunrise at approx 06.30am by the main pier.
Most likely we will look to have breakfast at 8am in either Urban Reef or Reef Encounter in Boscombe. If anybody has any other tips, just let us know.
Everybody’s welcome, club and non members, but you will all need a fully functioning set of front/rear lights, a bike, spares and legs that can make the distance and be prepared to navigate yourself all the way to Bournemouth on your own should you need to do so.
Due to this being a night ride we can’t guarantee keeping everybody in groups for the whole ride. We aim to ride at about 15mph to make sure we get there in time. We plan to stop in Warminster, Salisbury and maybe Lynhurst along the way. Please ensure you have enough supplies to keep you going.
All riders are responsible for their own return trip back to the Bath area. Trains from Bournemouth and Pokesdown are very regular via Southampton back to Bath and cost is approx £30 for a single.
